BCM Impact Communications, LLC

About Brenna Clairr (BC), Founder & President

Before launching my own firm, I served as the associate director of global external communications at Kimberly-Clark, the company behind brands such as Huggies, Kotex, Kleenex and Cottonelle. In this role, I led the development and execution of strategic PR programs that brought the company’s purpose to life. I also introduced several successful initiatives that drove the company’s brand and reputation forward, including the launch of a robust thought leadership program for key executives and a global digital newsroom.

Prior to Kimberly-Clark, I worked for Shell at the company’s U.S. corporate headquarters and across several manufacturing assets in four states, where I led internal and external communications, crisis communications response, stakeholder engagement and strategic community giving. I also directed communications change management efforts during a challenging divestment at a U.S. refinery while ensuring business continuity and mitigating reputational risk.

My career began in Edelman PR’s ‘Business & Social Purpose’ practice, where I developed and executed sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives for various clients. In addition, I served as a media relations specialist at a multi-disciplinary professional services firm.

I earned my B.S. in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and an M.A. in strategic public relations from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, where I was an Annenberg Fellow. For nearly a decade, I served as a guest lecturer at Northwestern University and USC for PR and journalism undergraduate and graduate classes.

Based in Dallas, TX, I am passionate about strengthening my community and serve on the board of the Northwestern University Alumni Club in Dallas-Fort Worth. I previously served on the boards of my local YMCA and the Anacortes Family Center, which cares for families in crisis in Washington State. I was also a featured speaker at the USC Women’s Conference, an annual event that aims to inspire, empower and uplift women of all levels in various industries across the U.S.

Outside of my professional life, I am a mother of two, baker, lover of nature and hiking, world traveler, avid reader, pizza aficionado and karaoke star (boy band hits are my favorite). I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska.
